The sixth biennial C40 Mayors Summit, the principal global gathering for mayors of the worlds largest and most influential megacities, will take place in Mexico City from November 30 to December 2, 2016. Hosted by C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group (C40) and Mexico City the event draws mayors and leading thinkers from around the world to advance a shared agenda to deliver sustainable, resilient and low carbon cities through collaboration and to increase visibility about the global potential of climate actions in cities.
This years Summit will feature the fourth annual C40 Cities Awards, held in partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies and BYD, and taking place on the evening of December 1st. The C40 Cities Awards are granted in 10 categories and provide global recognition for cities that are demonstrating climate action leadership.
Previous C40 Mayors Summits have been held in Johannesburg (2014), Sao Paulo (2012), Seoul (2009), New York (2007) and London (2005).
